To execute trend recording on a runtime system, you need an application with a “Trend Recording Manager” object that contains at least one “Trend Recording” object. Then you can configure a database on the runtime system and the data buffering.
First, define the time interval when the data should be recorded. To do this, you can follow the steps described in the "⮫ “Configuring an Interval-Based Recording ”" chapter. This is how you can easily configure your trend recording. An alternative configuration is described in the "⮫ “Configuring a Task-Dependent Recording ”" chapter. This type of configuration is less intuitive and therefore not intended to be the default setting. Typically, you choose this type of recording when the data should be sampled at the end of the main task. Here it is important that the variables selected for trend recording are changed in the same task.
Then you specify which variables should be recorded. To do this, you can follow the steps in the "Configuring Variables" chapter.
Starting and stopping a recording by means of a project variable is optional.
