Object: PROFINET Controller
This tab provides an overview of the topology of a PROFINET network and the neighborhood/peer information for each PROFINET Device.
PROFINET Devices can recognize connected neighborhood/peer devices (station name and port number) by their Ethernet ports. This information can be read and also configured (actual and projected values). The entire topology of the Ethernet network can be created from this neighborhood/peer information. The optional topology configuration can be used, for example, for device exchange or the commissioning of standard machinery.
The projected data is displayed on the left side, and the actual topology is retrieved and imported for a comparison on the right side. Deviating port interconnections are highlighted.
In order to read the topology information, a valid IP address has to be set previously. See the “Auto-IP” command.
Available only for devices with LLDP support (example: CC B) and all new devices according to the standard Profinet V2.3
If neighborhood/peer information has been configured for a PROFINET Device (or Controller), then these are continually checked, and a corresponding diagnosis entry is generated when a deviation from the set state is detected.

“Port” |
Number of the local port (starting at 1) |
“Neighbour” |
Device name and port of the neighboring device Clicking these fields opens a device view with the connected port selected. |
“Neighbour-Port” |
|
“I&M” |
Gets the I&M data (identification and maintenance) of the device and view in a dialog |
“Auto-IP” |
Automatically setting of a valid IP address within the network (network settings of the master) if the address scanned by the device is invalid. |
“<–” |
Accept/import the neighborhood information (online) of the selected devices in the project. |
“Reset” |
Resets the device settings of the selected device to default values |
“Blink LED” |
To identify a listed device by its hardware, select the device and click the “Blink LED” button. The device should respond by flashing. |
“Nominate” |
CODESYS tries to set the station name and IP address that were specified for the selected slave. |
Port-State |
Possible states:
|
“IP address” |
Set IP address of the slave |
“Subnet mask” |
Set subnet mask of the slave |
“LineDelay” |
Line delay (in nanoseconds). Recommended value: 6ns for 1 meter of cable |
