In the generic “Files” tab of the device editor, you can copy files to and from the local file system and the PLC.
Requirement: The manufacturer has unlocked the tab. In the device tree, the connection to the PLC is configured. The device is running.

Double-click the PLC device object in the device tree to open the device editor.

Click the “ ” tab.

In “Host” | “Location” on the left part of the view, set the path in the local file system where files will be copied to and from.
Example:
D:\FileTransferWithPLC
If necessary, click the
symbol to create a new directory right there.
The files and directories are shown like in a file manager. Click the
button refresh the display.

In “Runtime” on the right side of the view, set the required directory for the data transfer in the same way.
CODESYS shows the files on the controller.

Select the required files from the file system tree for the file transfer. Multiselection is possible. You can also select a directory for transferring all files in a folder.

Click the
and
buttons between the two parts of the view.
CODESYS immediately copies the selected files to the other file system. If a file is not already available in the target directory, then it is created. If it is already available and not write-protected, then it is overwritten. Then a corresponding message is displayed.
