CODESYS manages the installed devices in the ⮫ device repository. A device repository is a defined location in the file system which by default is defined as the system repository for the CODESYS installation with a absolute path. You install or uninstall devices in the “Device Repository” dialog. The system installs a device by reading the device description file. The properties of a device are defined in these files regarding configurability, programmability, and possible connections to other devices.

You can use the devices provided in the device repository by adding them to the device tree of your project.
